4 Plus-Friendly Places to Get Cozy this V-Day
V-Day is three days out. The forecast has been playing tricks on us. It’s totally alright that you haven’t finalized your plans for Thursday yet. And we’re here to help.
Whether you’re looking forward to a fancy affair or a casual culinary celebration, we’ve scouted some great spots for you to ensure uncomfortable seating doesn’t ruin your evening. Nothing gets in the way of a candlelit conversation than getting bumped by servers and other patrons all night long. Am I right?
Shalom Y’all SE - Eastside Location
117 SE Taylor St
Portland, OR 97214
Aside from fantastic food (the lamb popsicles are a must order for carnivores), this spot sports a super comfortable dining area. The tables move easily and all two tops offer both bench and chair options. The lighting is fabulous, as is the service. So, if you and your sweetie don’t fear garlic, go here.
5028 NE 42nd Ave
Portland, OR 97218
While the barrel-style chairs at this Northeast Portland classic are to be avoided, the booths are pure heaven. Their pizza is fab and will make for a budget-friendly V-Day date. And no promises—but this seems like the kind of joint that will spin out heart-shaped pies on the most romantic day of the year.
1932 NE Broadway St
Portland, OR 97232
If you’re looking for great drinks and an even better DJ, Swift Lounge is the place for you. Their booths and tables are totally moveable, not that you’ll be seated for long. Expect to spend the night dancing with your S.O. Or, if you’re single and looking for a great place to chill with friends on V-Day, Swift Lounge is an excellent option.
1625 NE Killingsworth St
Portland, OR 97211
Really good BBQ might just be a love language. If you or your sweetie identify with this statement, get on over to Podnah’s in NE Portland, where the seating is as hearty as the fare. (Which is why we’ve written about their awesome venue before!) This popular spot is often full, but it’s well laid out and spacious. Come and prepare to be generous. The chef/owner starts their day at 5am to make sure the fresh barbecue is ready by dinner time.
